About Gail

Before Pilates, a lifetime in ballet.

The years I spent at the barre and, later, teaching ballet to children and adults, taught me how a body moves, and how the answer to continuous progress is rarely to try harder.

Her story

From the barre to the reformer.

I grew up immersed in classical ballet. In my twenties I found I had a gift for teaching, and for the next few decades I taught ballet to students, ages seven through adult.

As I began to feel the effects of aging, I turned to classical Pilates to keep my body moving well. My personal practice has kept me physically strong, mentally sharp, and energized about life — and inspired me to become an instructor so I could help others experience similar benefits

I am living proof that it is never too late to learn something new.

Biography

A love of learning, a passion for teaching.

Gail brings a love of learning, a passion for teaching, and genuine joy in helping others to each of her clients. She spent her childhood immersed in classical ballet and discovered a gift for teaching while in her twenties, a calling she pursued for the next few decades, instructing students from age seven through adulthood and honing her ability to work with every kind of body along the way.

As she began to feel the effects of aging, Gail turned to classical Pilates to keep her body moving well. Her personal practice has kept her physically strong, mentally sharp, and energized about life, and inspired her to become an instructor so she could help others experience similar benefits. Her teacher training was a 500-hour, comprehensive program with a classical focus on all apparatus with Sharon Manzuk in San Diego. Later, Gail was invited to join the S6 Pilates Continuing Education Intensive Training Program under renowned master instructor Chris Robinson. She continues to train with Chris weekly, deepening both her practice and honing her teaching skills.

Gail is living proof that it’s never too late to learn something new and chase your dreams. She loves nothing more than helping others discover how Pilates can enrich their own lives.

The studio

Two rooms, a pond, and no front desk.

In-person private or duet classes are held in my home studio. One room, which holds the reformer and other small apparatus, is in the backyard by a pond where fish and turtles carry on with their day while you work out. The other room, inside the house, holds more apparatus, including the Cadillac and all the chairs.

Classes are scheduled at a day and time convenient to you and me, so there is no front desk and nobody waiting to take your spot.

Who I teach

Classical Pilates is for every body.

Regardless of age or ability. I teach the body in front of me, so each class is tailored to what is best for you and your body that day. You grow in strength and connection, safely, at your own pace.
