The whole system, one person at a time.
I teach Pilates as a comprehensive system, the way Joseph Pilates intended.
Sessions are private and unhurried. We start from where you are when you arrive, and use the system to move you towards greater connection of mind, body, and spirit, with an increased sense of well-being by the time the class is complete.
Classical Pilates is for every body, regardless of age or ability.

Exercises on the reformer or mat, in the sequence set by Joe, tailored to fit your body, so the work builds and your strength grows.
Gratz apparatus
Reformer, mat, Cadillac, chairs and more are hand-crafted by Gratz, the original manufacturer of authentic Pilates equipment.
One body at a time
I teach the body in front of me, using traditional movement to create personal transformation. Each class is tailored to what is best for you and your body that day. With consistent training you progress safely and steadily, at your own pace.
The method, as he intended.
Joseph Pilates wanted his program understood as a system that develops the whole body. Following the order of the Mat or Reformer exercises warms the body, challenges it, and brings it to a state of greater functionality. The other apparatus are used to deepen the body’s connections and alignment.

What is Classical Pilates?
Many people know Pilates as segmented exercises, such as “reformer Pilates” or “mat Pilates.”
What makes it classical?
Classical Pilates is a method which uses the whole body for every exercise, training it to work as a coordinated system, rather than focusing on isolated parts.
How is it different from a contemporary reformer or mat class?
In classical Pilates, a class often begins with a warm up on the mat or reformer, following Joe’s order of exercises, then, based on what you need, other apparatus may be introduced to help your body find the correct connections and alignment. Repetition of the order of exercises helps you to deepen your understanding of how to find those connections, and your progress compounds.
What Apparatus is used?
Each class is taught on Gratz equipment, the original manufacturer of authentic Pilates apparatus, to enhance your experience of each class and optimize your progress.
What are the benefits?
Joseph Pilates’s complete system is tailored to each client’s unique needs. Consistent training builds deep core strength, better posture, controlled flexibility, balanced muscles, and sharper body awareness, which can ease back pain, improve balance, and reduce stress.
A place for personal transformation
In-person private or duet classes are held in my home studio. One room, which holds the reformer and other small apparatus, is in the backyard by a pond where fish and turtles carry on with their day while you work out. The other room, inside the house, holds more apparatus, including the Cadillac and all the chairs. Classes are scheduled at a day and time convenient to you and me, so there is no front desk and nobody waiting to take your spot.
Complete equipment. Complete method.
A more complete you.
Who teaches here
Before Pilates, a lifetime in ballet.
The years I spent at the barre and, later, teaching ballet to children and adults, taught me how a body moves, and how the answer to continuous progress is rarely to try harder.
Classical Pilates is the best method I've found that is for every body, regardless of age or ability.
After graduating from a 500+ hour comprehensive classical Pilates teacher training program with Sharon Manzuk in San Diego, CA, I continued my Pilates training with classical Pilates teacher trainer Chris Robinson, completing his continuing education program and training with him weekly.
